How we make Jewellery

How we make Jewellery

For over twenty years we have been scouring the globe with a view to gaining an in depth knowledge of the traditions, techniques and materials used in the making of beautiful jewellery. We have found that in different parts of the world people have different skills and practices, which bring a particular character to the work they do.

Consequently we have built up long lasting relationships with different artisans, craftspeople and manufacturers with whom we continue to develop: in Mexico there exists a particular way of hand finishing silver jewellery that gives it is highly polished sheen and luxuriant patina; in Thailand the delicate and precise carving of both wax moulds and finished elements is stunning; in Italy there is a tradition of making fine silver chains going back through generations of Tuscan families; in the UK in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter we work with firms who have been casting and gold plating since the last century. We bring all these elements together in our workshop in South West London where we then compose and hand finish our unique jewellery.

Because all our jewellery really is handmade you may find slight variations in the work and even on occasion minor marking. These are the imprints of the craftspeople who made the piece.
